During the application process, parents/guardians are required to complete a form giving their consent for their child to participate in a course.
Children’s Course Servers Policy
Adults who wish to serve on a course must, as a minimum requirement, have successfully completed at least one ten-day Vipassana course as taught by S.N. Goenka.
In accordance with the Irish Vipassana Trust’s Child Safeguarding Policy, all those applying to serve on a course are required to be Garda Vetted. In accordance with Garda Vetting regulations, every organisation is obligated to submit vetting applications for individuals associated with that specific entity. Previous Garda vetting obtained from other organisations cannot be transferred or applied to our organisation.
It can take a number of weeks to process this, so we encourage applicants to apply well in advance of the course to avoid disappointment.
Our application process for serving on children's courses follows a prioritised approach:
We prioritise applications from parents or guardians of children attending the course, recognising their limited availability for longer commitments such as 3-day and 10-day courses.
Should our initial quota for parent and guardian servers not be met, our next priority is to consider applications from close family members of attending children.
In the event that additional servers are still required, we welcome applications from our community of old students.
If you would like to apply to serve the course, you can do so via the Course Schedule page https://www.dhamma.org/en/schedules/noncenter/ie
